Favorite Teams Going into the Europa League 19/20

The Europa 2019/20 draw did not reveal any particularly huge surprises, partly because there are not so many top teams and also because it is not yet known who will fall off from the Champions League.

Still, bookmakers are already offering early odds for this season’s winners. Here are some of the favourites.

Manchester United

The Red Devils are in desperate need for a return to the Champions League, and the Europa League seems a viable route to get there. They are in an easy group which they are expected to top, but their depth of play is a cause for concern.

Arsenal

Another English side, and last year’s finalists, Arsenal have impressive odds to go the distance this year. They are under the tutelage of Unai Emery who won the competition three times in a row with Sevilla, so that’s an odd-determinant too.

Sevilla

The Spanish side had a good spell winning it three times in recent years; bookmakers back their familiarity to drive them over the line. They are in Group A alongside Apoel, Qarabag and Dudelange; they should have no trouble topping them.

AS Roma

Roma is yet to win this trophy, but their exploits in the Champions League in recent years have bookmakers thinking they just needed to go a rung lower to go all the way. They eliminated Barcelona in the season before last, and fell to eventual champions Liverpool, in the 2018/19 season. They should have no problems coming out of group J against Monchengladbach, Istanbul, and Wolfsberg.

Wolves

Wolves are also getting backing to spring from an underdog position and win the Europa League. Well, they have not won anything since 1980, but anyone who follows the English Premier League knows the heat they are causing there. This sounds and looks like a risky bet, but the odds are tempting!
